Common Man, Extraordinary Call
Thriving as the Dad of a Child with Special Needs
It was Jeff Davidson’s dream to help empower and equip the special needs community. He was especially interested in helping the fathers of children with special needs. His own journey as a special-needs dad was the making of him as a man, and he believed it could be for others as well.
Before his untimely death in 2017, he began to write a field guide for fathers – a manual to help them navigate this often overwhelming journey. Jeff’s wife, Becky Davidson, had the honor of helping to complete his last message to the special needs community he so dearly loved. We hope you will read the book and make use of these tools so that your journey will be easier and your load lighter.
Bible Studies & Small Group curriculum
Anchored is a personal study & journal for parents raising children with special needs.
This 6 week personal study & journal is a deep dive into looking at what we anchor our lives to as believers in Jesus. Each week of this study will include five days of meditation and study of many scriptures to encourage you to dig deeper into God's Word. These daily assignments will include opportunities for Writing The Word, Worship, Response, Gratitude, and Purposeful Prayer. Additionally, each week we will memorize a specific scripture that affirms the truths we are focusing on for each session.
So often, our lives feel tossed about, out of control, and chaotic. The Word even tells us that we will have trouble in this world. But, we know when we anchor our lives in God and his Word, we can move through life with peace and joy that can only come from Jesus.

“...there is another kind of weariness, beyond physical sleep deprivation...
a weariness that getting more sleep cannot take away. It might be the burden
of worry over your child’s new diagnosis. It might be fear over how this
special-needs journey is going to affect your marriage. Or maybe it is
anxiety over your child’s future and the future of your family. If someone asked
you how you are, you might respond with, “Fine!” - but deep down you are bone
tired - physically, emotionally, spiritually. You just. want. rest.
This kind of deep weariness requires more than a nap or some “me time”.
This is weariness of spirit...and it requires true rest and renewal that only our
Father can provide, through His Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
