Surviving Life's Storms Session TWO: April 20, 2020

Welcome back friends! We are so thankful for all of you who have chosen to do this study with us. We pray that it blesses you and encourages you to lean on our Savior during a time when stress and worry could easily overtake us.

Here’s how this will work.

We will post a new video and discussion board eachMonday for 7 weeks. Watch the vintage video of Jeff or Becky discussing the current topic. Then, read the questions and post your point of view in the comment box below. Feel free to read the other’s comments and reply! The more conversation we can get going, the better this small group will be.

Moving from “Why” to “How”

We each have a unique journey that we travel as parents of children with special needs. But one thing we have in common are the questions that we often ask ourselves. As we move through the storms that come in our lives, we want to try to change the questions to help focus our thoughts. We want to move from:

  • "Why is this happening? " to "How can God use this?"

  • "Why won't this change?" to "How can I grow through this?

This is hard. We know. It takes practice and a choice every time these thoughts come into our minds. This week as you’re reading through scripture and working on the questions from this session, we encourage you to take note of the questions you’re asking.

  2. What are some scriptures that can help us shift and change our way of thinking?
